Beginner's Survival Guide: Starting From Zero in Escape From Duckov

5 min 📖

When I first started playing escape from duckov, I always stood in the bunker unsure what to do first—change difficulty, grab quests, or just run outside. After a few rounds, I found a pretty stable early-game routine, and I'm writing it down for new players who just joined.

1. Decide what you want to do before leaving the bunker

Walk to the table and press F to set a difficulty you're comfortable with. Then tidy up your backpack: toss materials you don't need into the Stash, bring only a weapon you like, a few bullets, and basic meds. Lock frequently used slots with L to avoid dumping them by accident. Materials needed for quests or crafting can be marked with N, so you'll know to pick them up when you see them outside.

2. For your first run, Ground Zero is enough

Your first trip to Ground Zero doesn't need to be a full clear. Talk to Jeff and grab the basic quests, especially the one requiring 2 pieces of wood to build the workbench. Don't explore too deep; if you meet enemies that look troublesome, just avoid them. Once you get the materials you need, simply walk back to the bunker door and extract—that's the safest and most beginner-friendly way to escape.

3. In fights, staying alive matters more than dealing damage

  • Keep close to cover, and don't reload in the open.
  • If enemies rush you, back up a bit before firing.
  • Go for headshots when possible—the damage difference is huge.

4. After returning to the bunker

Store extra gear, check what you can unlock at the workbench, and upgrade slowly. Don't rush into high-difficulty maps too soon. As long as you can consistently bring something back from Ground Zero, your stash, quests, and skills will naturally start rolling.
